Mission & History

The Gresham-Barlow Education Foundation
partners with businesses and the community to fund increased
academic opportunities to help students be successful.

The Gresham-Barlow Education Foundation was formed in 1994 to assist the schools of the Gresham-Barlow School District in providing the best possible educational opportunities for its students and continues to fulfill its mission of Bringing Great Things to the Classroom today. We have become even more dedicated to this cause, and our efforts have become even more important, given the current climate of school funding in Oregon.

The Foundation is composed of 24 volunteer community members who encompass all geographic areas of the district and represent a wide variety of skills, occupations, and backgrounds. We are a legally designated non-profit organization, all donated funds are accounted for separately from the school district and are fully tax deductible. Our office is currently located in a building on the campus of Kelly Creek Elementary School and is staffed by a part-time Executive Director and Administrative Assistant.

Over the past several years, the Foundation has utilized a grant disbursement program to return funds to the classroom. In 2006, the Foundation provided over $231,609 in support for our local schools. If you'd like to be involved, call (503) 766-0008.
