10th Annual Spring Swing
On May 17th, 2005, the Gresham-Barlow Education Foundation held it's 10th Annual Spring Swing Golf Tournament at beautiful Persimmon Country Club in Gresham. We featured a new start time this year, 8:00 am, but we had the same fun, fellowship, golf, great contests, and prizes as we always have. Following the conclusion of play, golfers gathered for a bar-b-que lunch and auction. For information on sponsorships and golfing next year, contact the Foundation office at (503) 674-5624. |

11th Annual Spring Festival!!
The Gresham-Barlow Education Foundation's held its 11th Annual Spring Festival in the parking lot at Gresham City Hall on May 7th, 2005, from 7:30 am - 2:00 pm. It featured the traditional beautiful bedding plants and hanging baskets, and a wonderful array of landscape material generously donated by local nurseries. The Foundation would like to thank the students who provided art for display, as well as the Springwater Trail Marimba Band and the Highland choir for performing that day. Thanks also to Sodexho Food Services, with Dave and Christy, for providing our traditional Pancake breakfast, featuring our local district administrators and principals behind the grill, and new this year, a great Yakisoba noodle and teriaki chicken lunch! |

GBEF Second Annual Phone-A-Thon 2005 A Big Success!
The Gresham-Barlow Education Foundation would like to thank all those who were involved with the success of our Second Annual Phone-A-Thon held Feb. 21st-24th. This year's pledged total amounted to $31,780 and we are very pleased to report that of that amount approximately $28,000 has been sent in. Our deepest appreciation goes out to: *Our sponsors, Fred and Brandace Bruning (whose cash donation mainly goes directly back to students in the form of payments to the co-curricular groups who do the calling), The Outlook, and Campa Graphics who generously supported this event by underwriting the costs and allowing 100% of the donated funds to go to our literacy campaign. |
