Volunteer

There are many ways you can support the Foundation by volunteering your time.

Event Volunteer: The Gresham-Barlow Education Foundation hosts a variety of annual fundraising events. Upcoming events include:

Our 12th Scramble for Students Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, September 17, 2007, at Persimmon Country Club. The proceeds help fund our grant disbursement program each year.

On Saturday, November 18, 2006 the Foundation will present our 9th Annual Holiday Event, location TBA. The event features elegant hors d'oeuvres and beverages, a silent auction and a variety of holiday items and collectibles for purchase.

During the week of February 12-15, 2007 we will hold our 4th Annual Phone-A-Thon. Proceeds from this event each year provide extra reading support for struggling readers in every elementary school in our district. Volunteers are needed in our pledge processing room as well as out working with students who are making phone calls.

Clerical Help: We can always use help with filing, mailings and other clerical tasks during the year. Office volunteers can be used on weekdays between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.

GBEF Committee Member: GBEF operates with limited operating costs and a part-time staff. Volunteer committees help plan and organize some of GBEF’s most critical functions. The frequency, time and date of meetings depends upon the committee. Committee assignments include the areas of Communication, Investment, Planned Giving, Small Grant Disbursement, Board Development, Business Coalition, and for fundraising events and programs including Aspirations in Art, Phone-a-thon, Scramble for Students Golf Tournament, and the Holiday Event.

GBEF Board Member: The GBEF Board Development Committee is always interested in speaking with individuals who might be interested in becoming a member of the Education Foundation board. If you would like to speak with someone about becoming a member of this very energetic and worthwhile organization, please call the GBEF office at (503) 766-0008.
